[edit]This article is in definite need of cleanup. There appears to be NPOV, unencyclopedic, and uncited material throughout the article. I'll take a shot at it later if nobody beats me to it. Jfiling 05:45, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
He fought tonight and won.
Innacurate section "Title Shot Against Maskaev"
[edit]Peter aint the champ yet. He will face McCline. Section removed. Since they'll be fighting in the next hours, I'm not replacing it with anything else. Once the fight is over we can write the whole story. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Outsid3r (talk • contribs) 01:02, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
Controversy from Maskaev stoppage
[edit]This section is very weak. Nobody that knows anything about boxing thinks that a fighter should have to have been knocked down before a fight can be stopped. Any controversy (which in my opinion is entirely bogus) stems from a simple belief that Maskaev wasn't in serious enough trouble (which he clearly was, IMO) or that there was only about 5 seconds left in the round (which really isn't supposed to matter either). I'm going to rewrite this section...please feel free to improve on what I do, but please let's not cook up false controversies or lend credence to illegitimate ones. Intro paragraph
[edit]This is a terribly biased section against Peter, who is almost certainly the 2nd best Heavyweight out there. The least the author(s) could do is source some of their anti-Peter rant. I'm going to re-write this to be a bit more fact-based. Cowboydan76 (talk) 15:28, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'm again going to delete some of the speculation about Peter's age, etc. because any alternate age is certainly not a known fact, and speculation as to it should at least be attributed to some source rather than the poster. I'm not holier-than-thou on sourcing, certainly, but I think a "rumors" statement like this, when unsourced, crosses the line into potential libel. Cowboydan76 (talk) 06:15, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
Just took out the part about beating Vitali. Its fun but not fact!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Boils (talk • contribs) 18:49, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
I am not an expert but the following is from the introduction: "Peter is the fourth boxer from the African continent to win a heavyweight title, after Gerrie Coetzee and Corrie Sanders." If he is the fourth, then why only two rather than three names of previous African holders of the heavyweight title? --Dumarest (talk) 14:20, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
Outside the Ring
[edit]The claim that Lennox advised Peter to "open a severe cut on Klitchko's eye" needs to be supported by a citation or removed. --64.229.56.109 (talk) 01:38, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Nickname
[edit]Someone has vandalised the nickname under the picture. It's supposed to be The Nigerian Nightmare, right?
